First Friday Goes Digital

For the first time in their 17 years, First Friday Scranton could not run in the usual sense due to COVID-19 restrictions. As the agency that manages all of their marketing and web pieces, we knew that we could come up with a great alternative for First Friday that keeps people safe at home but also still supports the community’s artists and keeps a sense of camaraderie. Thus, the First Friday Digital Exhibition was born.

Putting a call out to artists lead to almost 30 participants interested in sharing their work! We collected all of the artist information, including their social handles, and designed two website pages: one to display the growing list of artists which includes a short bio and links to their Instagram or website, and another page to display everyone’s art in one virtual gallery.

The great thing about the Digital Exhibition is that it will be up for display all month long! See it here.

In addition to the gallery space, we reached out to all participants to answer a handful of interview questions so we can spotlight all the artists individually. We had so many willing participants that we have enough artists to highlight for the rest of the month! Be sure to check out First Friday’s website and FB page to read them all.
