Our new Graphic Designer Rachel joined BlackOut earlier this month, and we couldn’t be more excited!
Let’s get to know her, shall we?
What’s your background?
I am born and raised in NEPA. I grew up in Tunkhannock, Pa and then moved to Scranton while attending Marywood University. I became interested in Graphic Design during high school after taking multiple classes in graphic communications. I graduated from Marywood University in May of 2017 with a BFA of Design in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History. After graduating, I worked primarily as a freelance designer until accepting this position.
Your top 3 favorite Podcasts/Books?
I’ve just recently started listening to podcast, the two I’m listening to right now are The Art History Babes and Harry Potter and the Sacred Texts. Both of which I’m enjoying. My favorite books are the Harry Potter series, specifically Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I also like graphic novels but I don’t have a personal favorite.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
When I’m not working I like to spend time outside hiking. I also enjoy crocheting and hand embroidery. I’ve recently been working on a personal project that involves illustrating and then embroidering a patch for each of America’s National Parks.
