Marketing Tip #10

Social media serves as a great opportunity for businesses to reach potential customers and with so many options, it can be difficult to narrow down which platforms will best serve your organization. With Facebook being the social platform with the most active users, we recommend setting up an account with Facebook as a starting point. From there, you should identify your business objectives, product offering, and target audience to determine what additional social platforms you should engage.

A digital strategy utilizing multiple social media platforms will ensure you are reaching potential customers on the networks they engage in. If you’re still stuck on which platforms to utilize, consider asking your customers a few questions in person, by email, or through a brief survey. Three quick questions you can ask that will help you gain feedback from your customers include:

-What is your favorite social media platform and why?

-Where do you spend the most time on social media?

-Where would you like to see us on social media?

Understanding which platforms your customers engage in and why will help you determine where to dedicate your time and energy. It will also help determine how you go about engaging those customers on social media.
